Applications are now open for the UNESCO-MONDIACULT 2022 World Conference.

The UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2022 will be convened by UNESCO forty years after the first Mondiacult World Conference on Cultural Policies held in Mexico City (Mexico) in 1982, and 24 years after the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies for Development held in Stockholm (Sweden) in 1998. The UNESCO-MONDIACULT 2022 World Conference will be hosted from 28 to 30 September 2022 by the Government of Mexico.

Eligible Questions

Cultural workers, youth and the public at large are invited to contribute to this global policy dialogue on arts, creativity, culture and heritage by sharing your responses to the following questions:

  • What is the one issue of most urgent concern for you regarding the sustainability and resilience of the arts, culture, heritage and creativity?
  • What is one action policymakers should take to effect positive change in this area of concern?
  • What are possible solutions that already address this concern?
Eligibility Criteria

Participants in the Conference shall be defined by UNESCO, in accordance with Article 21 of its Regulation, including:

  • Member States and Associate Members of UNESCO;
  • non-member States and Observers;
  • Organizations of the United Nations system;
  • intergovernmental organizations;
  • international non-governmental organizations; and
  • other relevant entities, based on the guest list determined by UNESCO in accordance with Decision 212EX/5.I.C.
